Suffolk County Police today arrested Matthew Widener for three additional incidents of sexually abusing customers at day spas where he was employed. After additional victims came forward, it was determined that Widener inappropriately touched two women at Karasmatic Day Spa in Bayport and one at Elements Massage in Smithtown between October 2017 and May 2018. Fifth Squad detectives charged Widener with three counts of Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree and three counts of Forcible Touching. He is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have been a victim of Widener to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.

Suffolk County Police today arrested Matthew Widener for two new incidents of sexually abusing a customer at a Bayport day spa where he was previously employed. Widener inappropriately touched two separate women earlier this year on January 27 and August 11.

Widener also worked at Elements Massage, located at 42 East Main Street, Smithtown between June 2013 through December 2017. Detectives are asking anyone who may have been a victim of Widener, to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.

Widener is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on September 4.

Massage Therapist Arrested for Sexually Abusing Customer – Fifth Precinct, 125 Waverly Ave., Patchogue
Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at approximately 7 a.m.

Suffolk County Police today arrested a massage therapist for sexually abusing a customer at a Bayport day spa earlier this month.

A 34-year-old woman was getting a massage at Karasmatic Day Spa, located at 861 Montauk Highway, on August 12 when she was inappropriately touched by the massage therapist, Matthew Widener.

Fifth Squad detectives charged Widener, 33, of 20 Columbus Ave., Farmingville, with Sexual Abuse 3rd Degree. He is scheduled to be arraigned today at First District Court in Central Islip.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have been a victim of Widener, who is a licensed massage therapist and has since been terminated by his employer, to call the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
