PBA President Patrick J. Lynch said: “Anybody who wants to play the ‘blame the cops’ game with this tragedy needs to swallow their rhetoric and look at the facts. Brian Mulkeen and his fellow police officers worked without a script and faced unknown dangers to protect innocent New Yorkers. As a result, they wound up in a life-or-death fight with an armed career criminal. That perp is the one who chose to fight with the cops. He is solely responsible for our hero brother’s death.”

The Police Benevolent Association of the City of New York (PBA) is the largest municipal police union in the nation and represents nearly 50,000 active and retired NYC police officers.
