bankrobberWEST ISLIP – Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person who robbed the People’s United Bank which is inside a Stop and Shop supermarket in West Islip.

A man entered the bank, located at 400 Union Blvd., on August 9 at approximately 3 p.m. approached a teller and demanded money. The teller complied with the man’s demands and fled the store on foot.

The robber is described as white male, 30 to 40 years old, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin to medium build. The man had a fair complexion, red hair and a goatee.

The suspect may also be responsible for a similar robbery that occurred on Friday August 2, 2013 at the People’s United Bank in Farmingville. Below is a picture of the suspect.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
